Personalized Classes

The teachers at Sunday Best Quiltworks work one-on-one with each student to teach a host of specialized skills needed to create brilliant, desirable quilts and fabric projects. Our individual lessons and small classes create the perfect environment for learning and fun.

Learn hand quilting, machine piecing, appliqué, paper-piecing and much more!  We'll share the best tips for lining up points, pressing seams, saving scraps and applying your new skills to future projects. 

Sign up for group classes and we'll take you through a quilt project from start to finish - take a stack of pretty fabrics and turn them into a gorgeous quilt! 

Class Policy:  Effective immediately, you must pre-pay for all classes when you sign up. If for any reason you cannot attend, we will gladly refund half the class fee or apply the full amount to a future class.  Pre-cut kits are nonrefundable.

The first Saturday of every month is "Saturday Sampler" at SBQ. Join us for free coffee, tea and donut holes… and a whole lot of fun! Bring your work to share during Show & Tell, and get an extra door prize ticket for every item you bring! We'll also demonstrate Jinny Beyer's Perfect Piecer!

Beginning Smocking $40
2-Part Class
Teacher: Jeanne Adams

In this 2 part class you'll learn all the basic stitches of geometric smocking with extra tips to help you in the construction of smocked children's garments. We'll work on a practice insert which is included in your class fee.

We have used machine applique to speed up the piecing of this quilt. you'll learn how to fuse, cut and then machine applique the blocks and fussy cut your cornerstones. If traditional colors aren't your 'thing', think outside the box and use black with bright colors!

Make accurate pieces by stitching by hand around paper foundations. This makes a great portable project. Construction is simple but results are stunning and fun, fun, fun! Chat and sew at the same time!

Baltimore Album $20
Teacher: Linda Camp

A new style of appliqué emerged in Baltimore, Maryland during the 1840's. These beautiful quilts exemplified extraordinary beauty and skill, incorporating many techniques that were very innovative at the time. We will start simple, learning needleturn hand appliqué and progress to folded roses, stuffed work, reverse appliqué, ruching, and much, much more. Join us to start making tomorrow's treasured heirlooms.
